Choosing a mould system
A geometry-led way to compare boxes, trays, direct moulds, two-part systems, and inner cavities.
Begin with access
Consider how the master and cast need to leave the mould. A tray or open face may suit straightforward access, while a split box can provide controlled separation around more enclosed geometry.
Match controls to geometry
Multiple split planes, two-part silicone operations, and inner-cavity tools address different geometric needs. Their presence is not a guarantee that every model can use the same setup.
Prototype the decision
Generate a candidate system, inspect walls, openings, splits, channels, and clamps, and compare alternatives before committing to exported tooling.
